Priest held for raping woman

New Delhi, Oct 12 (UNI) Police today arrested the priest of a temple in Mukherjee Nagar area of northwest Delhi for allegedly raping a 40-year-old woman.

Pravesh, 28, allegedly lured the woman to his room and raped her inside the temple premises at about 1400 hrs at Nirankari Colony's Gauri Shankar Temple under Mukherjee Nagar police station, said sources.

The priest was later arrested in the evening after a case was registered.

The woman, who hails from Balia (UP), had taken shelter in the the temple for the last 20 days.

Police said the woman had been sent for medical examination and the investigation was on.
