No plan to replace 25 pc Cong MLAs with new faces in polls: CM

Jalandhar, Oct 13 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh today clarified that the ruling Congress would give due representation to new faces in the forthcoming assembly elections in the state but there were no plans of substituting 25 per cent of its MLAs with new candidates, he stated.

Capt Singh said he had never said that 25 per cent party tickets would be given to new faces.

He added that he wanted to convey that the new faces would get due representation and the sitting MLA would be changed only if the party felt it was necessary to do so.
