No orders received to arrest Venkat Reddy: DGP

Hyderabad , Oct 13 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) Swaranjeet Sen today said the police did not receive any orders from Supreme Court to arrest Gouru Venkat Reddy, in the wake of Court's judgement, setting aside the clemency granted to Congress MLA Gouru Charita's husband, who is serving sentence in a murder case here filed by the State Government.

Mr Sen said the police department has moved transparently in the case of Mr Reddy. Police would take action against Reddy as per the Court directions, he added.

He said we respect the Court's judgement. The department was yet to receive orders from the court to arrest him.

Not commenting on the Court's judgement, the DGP told newspersons that he received a letter from Reddy's relatives stating that he was at his residence. Police would take action against him after consulting the legal experts, he added.
