Nikkei climbs as Advantest, techs advance

TOKYO, Oct 13 (Reuters) The Nikkei share average rose 0.77 percent on Friday as investors bought shares of Advantest Corp. and other major technology firms after gains by similar U.S. stocks.

The Nikkei was up 185.45 points at 16,554.26 as of 0006 GMT. The broad TOPIX index was up 1.18 percent at 1,632.68.
