Nickel crosses Rs 1,900-mark, key metals up

Mumbai, Oct 13 (UNI) Nickel today crossed the Rs 1,900-mark and other key metals also rose on improved demand, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange informed.

In the ferrous section, copper heavy hiked by Rs 300 per quintal on reduced stock supply.

In the non-ferrous category, aluminium ingots and lead ingots rose by Rs 100 and Rs 50 per quintal respectively on fresh demands.

Tin slab and nickel cathode went up by Rs four and Rs 20 per kg respectively on better buying support.

Following were the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 37,500, copper utensils - Rs 32,700, brass utensils - Rs 22,900, brass cuttings - Rs 26,600 and aluminium utensils - Rs 10,900.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 40,800, aluminium ingots - Rs 13,100, zinc slab - Rs 19,800, lead ingots - Rs 7,100, tin slab - Rs 525 (per kg) and nickel cathode - Rs 1,910 (per kg).
