NCM member visits Godhra riot-victims
Godhra, Gujarat, Oct 13 (UNI) Prof Zoya Hassan, member of the National Minority Commission (NCM) today visited several affected villages in the post-Godhra communal riots in Gujarat in March-2002.
According to the police sources, Mr Hassan had arrived here from New Delhi to meet the victims of post-Godhra riots.
Police sources said, the NCM member had visited Baria, Mora, and Maitral villages and some parts of Godhra town.
With an intention to collect first-hand information about the victims and incidents, Mr Hassan had made one to one talk with some of them and relatives of those who were killed in the riots.
The three months long communal riots had broken out in Gujarat following setting on fire on two coaches of Sabarmati Express on February 27, 2002 as result of which 58 kar sevaks, who were returning from Ayodhya, were killed.
