Major ammo hauls in Dimapur

Kohima, Oct 13 (UNI) Dimapur police along with Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) personnel have seized 1126 rounds of live 7.62 Self Loading Rifle (SLR) ammunition from a vehicle at Burma Camp areas of Dimapur town yesterday.

Official sources said during the routine frisking of the vehicle, the team intercepted a van for search and recovered about 1126 rounds of ammunition below a seat of the vehicle.

The vehicle was moving towards Dimapur to Asom, police said.

One person was arrested and an investigation was on to apprehend a smuggling racket.
