Lalu to flag off heritage steam train

Hyderabad, Oct 13: In an effort to rekindle the nostalgic memories of yesteryear, Railway Minister Lalu Prasad will flag off heritage steam train here tomorrow as part of the South Central Railway's Ruby jubilee celebrations.

Earlier, Mr Lalu would release a special postal cover and SCR new Logo to commemorate the completion of 40 glorious years by the South Central Railway at 'Rail Kalarang,' Bhoiguda, a railway release said here tonight.

The people of Hyderabad could enjoy the joy ride and feel the revival of old glory of the steam era as the SCR decided to operate alternatively to Bolarum and Falaknuma from October 15 to October 18.

A 'Rail mela' exhibition-cum-sale would be held for two days from tomorrow. A toy train for joy ride for children would also be run during the mela, the release added.
