Indo-US joint operation 'Shatrujeet' from October 25

Belgaum, Oct 13 (UNI) The Indo-US joint operation 'Shatrujeet' will commence at the Marathi Light Infantry Regiment (MLIR) here from October 25.

According to an official release here today, the operation would be set on urban, semi urban insurgency environment with a view to enhance inter operativibility of both armies at the functional level.

The exercise would focus on evolution of joint drills and refining field craft, battle craft, drills and procedures in counter terrorist operation.

Approximately, 160 persons of E Company of 2/4 Marine regiment of United States Marine Crops and Battalion Headquarter and Rifle Coy of 21 Punjab would participate in the joint operation.

The training would be on the conduct of counter terrorism (techniques, tactics and procedures at company level), confidence training, survival training, combat shooting, rock climbing, navigation, unarmed combat, room shooting, communication procedure, suicide terrorism and human bomb philosophy, human rights in counter terrorism operation and quick reaction, team action, the release added.
