India's first adventure park to open on October 26
Imphal, Oct 13 (UNI) An Adventure Leadership park (ALP), the first of its kind in the country, to be opened for public and sportspersons in the picturesque Lamdan near here.
Manipur Mountaineering and Trekking Association (MMTA) under the Himalayan Environment Trust.
The park will be thrown open to the public on October 26, MMTA president, N Ibungochoubi, said today.
He said Manipur Governor Dr SS Sidhu, who has taken keen interest for development of sports and healthy activity of the citizens, has donated Rs. 50,000 for development of the park.
As a beginning, the ALP would have elements of adventure for children where the visitors would experience outdoor activities in the form adventure to develop self-discipline, leadership and camaraderie. Jogging Track, Challenge course, Rock/ Boulder, Zorb - Ball, Open Air Amphitheater, Mountain Biking, Para-sailing, Water Sports, Swing Burma Bridge, Spider Web, Tarzan Swing, Valley Crossing, Commando Slithering, Trampoline Catapult are some of the features of the ALP. The special programme for school children for the ALP will be coordinated by MMTA from its head office at Minuthong, Imphal. There will be a special package for families who would stay overnight at the ALP.
