House wife burns alive

Rajahmundry, Oct 13 (UNI) A 25-year-old woman K Baby burnt alive last night at Anatavaram village here.

According to police while Baby was cooking idlies her saree caught fire suddenly, and she was burnt alive. Her husband who was in the house tried to put off the fire, but he too received burns and rushed to the hospital.

As both his hands were burnt he was unable to sign the statement, instead he used his big toe.

A case had been registered under section 174 and the body was handed over to the family after post-mortem.

In another incident, a 35-year -old S Venkatewara Rao died on the spot when a pepsi van hit him from back when he was walking on the road at Burugupudi in the wee hours today.

Police said the deceased was going to have a cup of tea.
