Govt willing to order probes: YSR
Hyderabad, Oct 13 (UNI) Alleging that the one-point agenda of the 'issue-less' Opposition was to bring 'discredit' to his Government and create hurdles to developmental projects, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today asserted that he was willing to order probes into any issue.
''Without winking eyelid, I have agreed for a CBI probe into the Outer Ring Road (ORR) project when the Opposition prayed for such a direction from the High Court,'' he told a press conference here.
The Cabinet sub-committee would shortly come out with a special package for those, who would lose land because of the project to create eight-lane express highway.
Referring to the Opposition demand for an inquiry by a sitting judge of the Supreme Court or the High Court into the ORR project, he said ''I am ready for any probe, be it a sitting or retired judge into any issue.'' Stating that he had readily agreed for a judicial probe into another issue concerning urban lands, Dr Reddy said the High Court had expressed inability to spare any sitting judge due to heavy workload.
The Opposition was bent upon criticising the Government in a bid to come back to power somehow or other as it was unable to digest the sincere development efforts being made by the Congress Government, he opined.
