'Ganja' estimated at Rs 40 lakh seized, 2 arrested

Basti, Oct 13 (UNI) Custom sleuths today arrested two people allegedly possessing 40 kgs 'ganja' on the Gorakhpur-Faizabad highway in Old Basti area.

The contraband is estimated at Rs 40 lakh in the international market, Custom Superintendent V K Pandey said.

The accused were identified as Shatrughan and Vikas, who were arrested near Chainpurwa village here.

Shatrughan was driving his truck en route to Ghaziabad from Muzaffarpur, Bihar.

The psychotropic substance was concealed in the truck alongwith the consignment.
