Fire-safety measures: HC expresses displeasure

Lucknow, Oct 13 (UNI) The Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court today expressed displeasure that authorities were not following the September 8 order passed by the court for taking fire-safety and fire-fighting measures in multi-storeyed buildings.

Hearing a PIL, a division bench comprising Justices Pradeep Kant and B B Agarwal ordered the respondents to file counter affidavits in the case on November 6, which is the next date of hearing.

The respondent have also been directed to appear personally on November 6.

The PIL was filed by Gomtinagar Jan Kalyan Mahasamiti seeking directives for taking fire-safety and fire-fighting measures in case of multi-storeyed buildings.

The bench has directed the respondents to issue ads in newspapers in this regard on October 16, 18 and 20.
