DMK wants SEC action on Jaya for 'instigating violence'
Chennai, Oct 13 (UNI) The ruling DMK today requested the State Election Commission (SEC) to file a case against AIADMK General Secretary J Jayalalithaa for ''instigating violence'' during polling in the first phase of the local body elections in Tamil Nadu.
In a letter to State Election Commissioner D Chandrasekaran, Party Organisation Secretary T K S Elangovan alleged the AIADMK was resorting to all sorts of ''dirty tactics'' to disturb peaceful polling in the Chennai city.
Alleging the AIADMK men took away a ballot box in Ward 147, he said it was confirmed by a statement issued by Ms Jayalalithaa, attempting to blame the DMK for the incident.
Two such incidents had occurred in the city and the AIADMK ''rowdies'' were involved in both the incidents, he alleged.
Mr Elangovan requested the SEC to arrest the culprits and file a case against Ms Jayalalithaa for ''instigating'' violence.
