Corruption case against CM referred to Division Bench
Bangalore, Oct 13 (UNI) The Karnataka High Court today referred to a Division Bench the Rs 150 crore corruption case against Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and two of his cabinet colleagues.
Justice H G Ramesh, delivering his ruling on the petition filed by suspended BJP Member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly Janardhan Reddy against Mr Kumaraswamy, Home Ministry M P Prakash and Forests Minister P C Chenigappa said the petition was in the nature of a public interest litigation and has to be heard by a Division Bench. Even otherwise such matters need to be dealt by a Bench, he stated.
Mr Reddy, who had alleged that the Chief Minister and two other ministers had taken a bribe of Rs 150 crore from iron ore miners in Bellary district had in his petition pleaded the High Court to direct a CBI probe into the charge.
