CM accuses AIADMK for violent incidents

Chennai, Oct 13 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M Karunanidhi today accused the AIADMK party for indulging in violence during the civic polls in the city and said it was part of a conspiracy launched by its leader J Jayalalithaa.

In a statement here, reacting to the violent incidents in the city, Mr Karunanidhi said the incidents took place as a part of the conspiracy launched by Ms Jayalalithaa and her associates.

He said only few days ago Ms Jayalalithaa said the people were agitating against him and the DMK, and the day was not far off to wipe out them like the elimination of 'Naragasura', and today's violence exposed her evil designs.

The AIADMK frontline leaders, in a bid to implement their leader's thoughts, staged violent incidents in the city today, as a trial, he added.

The DMK workers, however, should remain calm, following Anna's principle of duty, discipline and dignity, and extend support to the government, Mr Karunanidhi appealed.

He claimed, Ms Jayalalithaa who had been 'devastating democracy' during her regime with the help of the then State Election Commissioner Palanisamy, was now blaming him and Minister M K Stalin for the violence.

''This is nothing but devil quoting the scriptures'', he added.
