Chouhan promises development for MP

Vidisha, MP, Oct 13 (UNI) Pointing out that Madhya Pradesh is developing at a very fast pace, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today said he would not relax until the state joined the league of developed states.

''In the two-and-half years of BJP rule, the pace of development in Madhya Pradesh has been very fast and it received the status of fastest moving state,'' said Mr Chouhan, while addressing a public meeting here on the occasion of BJP nominee Rampal Singh filing his nomination from Vidisha Lok Sabha seat, where by-poll is slated for October 30.

''I will work in tandem with Mr Singh for the development of Vidisha,'' he promised, adding that the by-poll would have been interesting if the Congress fielded a strong candidate.

''However, BJP workers had started campaigning with full vigour,'' Mr Chouhan said, urging party workers to get Mr Singh elected with huge margin and give a fitting reply to the opposition.

He said he aimed at making agriculture a profitable venture.

BJP President Satyanarayan Jatia said the party had fielded Mr Singh keeping in mind the demand for local candidate.

Former Chief Minister Kailash Joshi said as a result of better fiscal prudence, the BJP Government had undertaken several developmental works without raising tax.

Former Chief Minister Sunderlal Patwa urged party workers to take time for campaigning besides sowing and harvesting crops and celebrating Diwali.

Finance Minister Raghavji and other leaders also addressed the gathering.
