Book to prevent suicide released

Kochi, Oct 13 (UNI) In view of the spiralling suicide rate in Kerala, 'Lest He Should Kill Himself,' a book by P O George, on how to prevent the crisis in present society has been released here.

Everyone had something to do to stop his family member, neighbour, or co-worker from committing suicide Mr George said yesterday.

He said the book with three sections, understanding and preventing suicide and initiatives for preventing suicide, explained the psyche of a suicide-prone person and opportunities for ventilating emotional distress.

The book was published by the Rajagiri College of Social Sciences, which in 1995 launched 'Maithri', a suicide prevention programme.
