Book on para-troopers released
Bangalore, Oct 13 (UNI) A Coffee Table Book, 'The Maroon League', on the para-troopers of the Indian Army was released by Lieutenant General S Pattabhiraman, Vice Chief of Army Staff, at the Parachute Regiment Training Centre here recently.
The book, a testimony to the Indian Army airborne soldiers who don the maroon beret and have made the impossible look achievable and the achievable feel easy, was designed and written in an easily comprehensible manner with 270 photographs, affording leisure reading, a Defence release here said today.
The book, divided into ten chapters, narrated the big battles the Indian Maroons had fought from Sangshak in World War II to the ongoing low intensity conflicts and the missions of mercy undertaken by them within the country and overseas. It paid tribute to the men who gave their today for the nation's tomorrow, and its illustrious forefathers and achievers, the release said.
