BJP to take disciplinary action against three rebel MLAs

Ranchi, Oct 13 (UNI) Alarmed at three party MLAs already voicing in support of Mr Babulal Marandi in the run up to the November 6 byelection to Koderma parliamentary seat, the BJP today warned them of disciplinary action.

Party unit president Yadunath Pandey told newspersons that he had come to know about the trio's statement supporting Mr Marandi, who deserted the BJP in May last, during the bypoll.

Yesterday, BJP legislator Vishnu Bhaiya shared a dias with Mr Marandi ater the latter filed his nomination paper. During the meeting, Mr Bhaiya said he would support Mr Marandi and dared the BJP leadership to take disciplinary measures against him.

Last week two party MLAs -- Ravindra Rai and Ms Kunti Singh-- said at a seminar here they would suport Mr Marandi in the bypoll.

The state BJP president said in the wake of these incidents an investigation must follow. He said action against the three MLAs, would be taken according to the party constitution and asserted that despite all such trifles his party would win.

Last time Mr Marandi won on a BJP ticket, Mr Pandey said adding that the party deserter got a mandate for five years which he did not respect and imposed another poll on the people.

The BJP president said party nominee Pranav Verma would file nomination on October 16.

The bypoll was necessitated following Mr Marandi's resignation from the Lok Sabha in May.
