A dry day, fresh cyclonic system indicates cool conditions next week
New Delhi, Oct 13 (UNI) It was another dry day in Delhi today even as build up of a fresh upper air cyclonic system indicated cloudy conditions in the Capital in the coming days.
Sudden build up of fresh western disturbance as an upper air system today held hope for some rainfall activity over the Western Himalayan region, weathermen said.
Under its influence, isolated rain or thundershowers were likely in a few places over Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal in the next two to three days which in turn could lead to an overcast sky in Delhi in the next 48 hours.
Though it was another predominantly Sunny day, the Westerly winds continued to bring some relief from humid conditions of the past few days.
The maximum temperature today was recorded at 35.6 degree Celsius while the minimum was recorded at 23 degrees.
With the build up of the western disturbance, weathermen have forecast a drop in maximum temperature over the next few days in the run up to the Diwali festival, which heralds the onset of the Winter season.
While there is expected to be a drop in maximum temperature to 33 degrees on Sunday, the minimum temperature is likely to drop to 20 degrees celsius by Sunday.
The weather office has forecast a partly cloudy sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours.
