Youth dies in explosion in firecracker unit

Sangli, Maharashtra, Oct 12 (UNI) A 21-year-old youth died in an explosion in a firecracker-making unit at village Kavathe-Yekand in Tasgaon tehsil of the district today.

The village is famous for making crackers.

The deceased was identified as Nilesh Krishna Patil, police said.

Police said Patil was busy preparing firecrackers in a tin-roof shed on the outskirts of the village for the forthcoming Diwali festival, when a fire broke out in the shed resulting in an explosion.
