Uttaranchal Assembly adjourned for fourth time
Dehradun, Oct 12 (UNI) Opposition members disrupted the proceedings in the Uttaranchal Assembly forcing the Chair to adjourn the House four times, resulting in the loss of the Question Hour and Zero Hour.
As soon as Speaker Yashpal Arya entered the House, BSP MLAs, demanding discussion on the issue of providing 70 per cent employment to local youths in industries set up in the state, entered the well shouting slogans against the government. Later Uttarakhand Kranti Dal legislators too entered the well, demanding discussion on the issue of delimitation and domicile certificate.
The Speaker adjourned the House for 20 minutes from 1110 hrs to 1130 hrs. However, the pandemonium continued as soon as House reassembled. Both BSP and UKD legislators again trooped into the well of the house, where the BSP members also staged a sit-in. The Speaker, within five minutes, adjourned the house for the second time till 1220 hrs. When the House assembled for the second time, the bedlam continued with the Chair's request to the members of both the parties to take their seats evoking no response.
The BSP members staged a walk out, whereas UKD members continued to demand discussion. Speaker Arya adjourned the house till 1300 hrs and then further adjourned it to 1500 hrs.
