Three wheeler tempo operators protest against hike in rent

Puducherry, Oct 12(UNI) The three wheeler passenger tempos went off the road in Puducherry following a strike by the drivers.

The agitation was to protest against the owners of the tempos who had enhanced the daily rent for the vehicle by Rs 100 and also the ticket price by 50 paise.

According to the tempo drivers hitherto the daily rent for the vehicle was Rs 400 and the ticket fare Rs two. This was enhanced to Rs 500 and Rs2.50, respectively. The strike was to demand roll back.
