Three private universities in HP soon, says CM
Shimla, Oct 12 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today announced the setting up of three private universities during this fiscal, saying this will help in making the state a knowledge hub.
Addressing a public meeting at Jhungi on the third day of his five day tour of Mandi distirct, he said the state govenrment had received a number of proposals for the setting up of universities in the state and the final decision on the issue would soon be taken.
Without clarifying where these universities would be set up in the state, he said these private universities would be set up during this fiscal.
Mr Singh said the Rs 322 crore APDRP programme was under implementation in the state that would ensure quality power supply to all the new habitations developed during the past two years.
He also announced the construction of a community health centre, veterinary hospital, veterinary dispensary, two senior secondary schools and a high school in Nachan Assembly segement soon.
The chief minister was here to lay the foundation stone of primary health centre building to be constructed at a cost of Rs 56 lakh at Jhungi.
