Three more nominations for Talasara(ST) Assembly seat
Bhubaneswar, Oct 12 (UNI) Three more candidates filed their nomination for the byelection to Talasara(ST) Assembly seat in Orissa today taking the total number to six so far.
According to official sources, former Talasara MLA Ranjit Bhitiria today filed his nomination as an independent candidate besides Agatit Soreng and Isudas Tirkey.
Yesterday, two independents- Birbal Toppo and Pisinath Singh had filed their nomination for the seat.
On October 9, BJP candidate Sahadeb Khakha had filed his papers as the official candidate of the ruling BJD-BJP combine.
Byelection for Talasara was necessitated following the death of sitting Congress MLA Gajadhar Majhi.
The Opposition Congress, meanwhile,has announced the candidature of Dr Prafulla Majhi for the seat.
The last date for filing nomination papers has been slated for October 13. While the scrutiny of the nomination papers would be held on October 14, the last date for withdrawal of the nomination papers has been fixed on October 16.
Byelections to the Assembly seat would be held on October 30.
