Stephen Marandi not to campaign for Babulal

Dumka, Oct 12 (UNI) Independent Minister in the UPA-backed Madhu Koda government Stephen Marandi said he would not campaign for Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Democratic) president Babulal Marandi during the by-poll for Koderma parliamentary seat.

Talking to UNI Mr Marandi said being a minister in the UPA-backed government in Jharkhand, it would be difficult for him to join election campaign in favour of Babulal Marandi.

''Babulal should have talked earlier with the UPA leaders for their support in the Koderma by-election.'' Justifying his step to join the UPA-backed Madhu Koda government in the state, Mr Marandi said he would make people ''free from the hands of the NDA.'' Replying to an query, Mr Marandi said the treasury of the state government became empty due to ''rampant corruption'' during the previous BJP-led NDA government but the Koda goverment would work for the development of state.

When asked about the internal squabbles of the ministers in the Koda government, he said ministers should tell their problems to the cabinet, not to the media.
