Special election commission observor visits Punjab

Moga, Oct 12 (UNI) The Election Commission's special observer, Mrs Sangita Gairole today reviewed the progress of Election Photo Identity Cards and revision of electoral rolls for Ferozpur division comprising of the districts of Moga Ferozpur and Muktsar.

In Moga, Mrs Gairole, held a meeting with the district returning officer Dr Arvinder Singh and electoral officers of the Dharamkot, Moga, Baghapurana and Nihalsinghwala assembly constituencies and other concerned officers and reviewed the progress of photo cards and electoral rolls.

The special observor accompanied by state officials also visited the polling booths at Moga and Dharamkot where the process of issuing photo cards was in progress. She directed the district electoral officer and others to ensure the inclusion of the names of all those new voters who are due to complete the elegibility by attaining the age of 18 years by January one, 2007.
