Speaker condoles Ravindra Verma's death

New Delhi, Oct 12 (UNI) Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee today condoled the death of noted Gandhian and freedom fighter Ravindra Verma, saying he had lost a friend and a colleague.

Mr Chatterjee placed a wreath on the mortal remains of Verma, who passed away here on Oct 9 at the Vishwa Yuvak Kendra.

In his condolence message, the Speaker wrote India had lost one of her most illustrious sons. ''India is indeed poorer. I have lost a great personal friend and a colleague. The services rendered by him to the country will be always remembered by people with great reverence.'' UNI YS AK HS1626
