Sensex up 75 pts on renewed buying activity
Mumbai, Oct 12 (UNI) The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Senseitive Index (Sensex) riding on the IT and Technology phenomenon and also ably assited by metals, Oil &Gas and Consumer Durables sector, was trading 75 points up at 12,428.44 in the intra-noon trading.
Traders showed renewed confidence in the above mentioned stocks post morning session, as the index touched the 12,440 level.
The only blip amongst the BSE sectoral indices was the FMCG sector down by 0.60 per cent, even as IT and Teck shares edged higher by 1.45 and 1.12 per cent respectively.
Meanwhile the crude oil dipped to US dollar 57 a barrel mark.
Major gainers on the BE-30 index were HDFC, TCS, Maruti Udyog, Infosys, Reliance Industries, Maruti Udyog, Infosys, Wipro, Bajaj Auto, Tata Motors and Reliance Energy, all up between 1.08 to 1.91 per cent.
Besides, the losers were HLL, ITC, HDFC bank, Bharti Airtel, ICICI, Hero Honda, Ranbaxy and BHEL, all down between 0.07 to 1.06 per cent.
