RIL heads Market Cap chart, ONGC placed second

Mumbai, Oct 12: The Reliance Industries market capitalization today topped the list of companies by beating ONGC figures by Rs 1434.51 crore.

Compared to ONGC market capitalization of Rs 161,536.48 crore, Reliance capped Rs 162,970.99 crore as the shares closed up at the BSE and NSE by 2.30 and 2.23 per cent respectively.

According to Bombay Stock Exchange figures, RIL shares today opened at Rs 1157.85 and closed with a gain of 126.30 points or 2.30 per cent at 1169.50. Volume of shares traded were put at 16,58,743, compared to ONGC shares which opened at Rs 1,120 and closed up by 3.95 points or 0.35 per cent with volume of shares traded well below at 361,837.

Reliance Industries is now heading the list of trillion dollar companies followed by ONGC, NTPC and Infosys. Reliance is the first private company to head the list. The other two companies are PSU ''Navratnas'' followed by Infosys and Wipro with other two private companies in the trillion dollar group.
