Rains forecast in north-east, TN, Kerala

Pune, Oct 12 (UNI) Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Lakshadweep.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at isolated places in Gangetic West Bengal, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka. Mainly dry weather will prevail over Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Gujarat, Marathwada, Telangana and Rayalseema.

The Southwest Monsoon has been subdued over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Konkan, Goa and coastal Karnataka.

Day temperatures were appreciably above normal in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh and north Chattisgarh. They were above normal in Bihar, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, east Rajasthan and Vidarbha. They were below normal in west Rajasthan and were normal over Sikkim and Gujarat state.

Night temperatures were below normal in some parts of Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh and west Rajasthan. They were appreciably above normal in Haryana, east Rajasthan and in some parts of Jammu and Kashmir, east Madhya Pradesh and north Madhya Maharashtra and were above normal in west Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh, west Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim and at a few places in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and at isolated places in Assam, Meghalaya, Konkan, Goa, Tamil Nadu, south interior Karnataka, and Kerala.
