People taken to preventive custody

Cuddalore, Oct 12 (UNI) One hundred and eight people were taken into preventive custody in the wake of the local body elections, the first phase of which is to be held tomorrow.

Police made thorough search of the central prison with bomb squad personnel and sniffer dogs to find out whether any explosives were taken into the premises by the anti-social elements, taken into custody.

Police however found nothing, sources said.
