Pasla not to join any front with communal colour
Jalandhar, Oct 12 (UNI) The Communist Party Marxist Punjab (Pasla) has decided not to join any front in the state, which includes communal elements like the breakaway Akali Dal groups and Shiv Sena.
However, the party would continue to work for unity among all Left parties for the next Assembly elections, party state secretary Mangat Ram Pasla told reporters here today.
Mr Pasla said the party was firm on its resolve to fight out both ruling Congress and the opposition Shiromani Akali Dal(Badal)- BJP combine in the next Assembly elections.
He said for this purpose, the Left need's to be united. However, alliance or seat adjustment with Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar), Shiromani Akali Dal (Longowal), Akali Dal (1920) or Shiv Sena would not be acceptable to his party, he added.
Expressing confidence about an understanding and unity among the Left parties, Mr Pasla said five of the Leftist groups, including the CPI and his party, had already reached an understanding for waging joint electoral fight against the Congress and SAD (Badal)-BJP combine.
Meanwhile, the CPM Punjab state committee, which concluded its two day meeting here today, has decided to hold a four-day organisational conference of the party from November 26 in Amritsar.
