MPCC, MPC signs by-election pact

Aizawl, Oct 12 (UNI) Mizoram Pradesh Congress Committee(MPCC) and the Mizoram People's Conference (MPC) party have entered into pre-poll alliance keeping in view the bypolls in the state's two assembly constituencies on October 30.

Congress sources here today said MPCC and MPC have formed a Common Front for the assembly polls at Tlungvel and Chaungte constituencies from MOC folds.

According to the agreement, MPC would not nominate any candidate for Chawngte constituency or support the Congress while, the Congress and MPC would have a common candidate for the Tlungvel constituency.

Meanwhile, the ruling Mizo National Front (MNP) and the Mizoram Congress Party (MCP) have also entered into another alliance where the MCP would support Congress in both the constituencies.
