Militant killed in North Kashmir

Srinagar, Oct 12 (UNI) A militant was killed by security forces in a fierce encounter in North Kashmir early today.

A defence spokesman said a patrol was attacked by militants at Chokbal in the frontier district of Kupwara. The security forces retaliated and in the ensuing gunbattle one militant was killed.

One AK rifle and other arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain militant.
