Maoists abduct businessman in Jharkhand

Latehar, Oct 12 (UNI) Maoists rebels today abducted a businessman from Balumath area in this district of Jharkhand, police said.

Suprintendent of Police R K Dhan said about twelve CPI(Maoist) activists this morning abducted businessman Gopal Singh from Balumath at gun point. His whereabouts were not known since abduction, he added.

No outfit so far has claimed responsibility and neither has the businessman contacted his home.

Mr Dhan said efforts were on to trace the businessman as police launched a manhunt after sealing the borders.
