LJP to make 1 lakh life members : Paswan
Patna, Oct 12 (UNI) Union Minister of Steel and Fertiliser and LJP president Ram Vilas Paswan today announced several measures to tone up different wings of the party and called for vigorous membership drive aimed at strengthening the organisation at grassroots level.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Paswan said that a target was set to enroll new one lakh life members by November, 2007.
A disciplinary committee headed by MP Surajbhan Singh had been constituted while fact finding committee was formed under chairmanship of Maheshwar Singh, leader of LJP legislative party in Bihar Assembly. The fact finding committee would inquire and collect facts at ground level from where any incidents like attack on dalits, minorities and weaker section of the party and report the same to leadership,he added.
A three-day state level meeting would be held here in March, 2006, to formulate policies and strategies of the party in view of the challenges ahead. Directives had been issued to constitute cell of different wings of the pary from Panchayat level to higher level by March next, he informed. The different cells of the party which was to be constituted by March next included Kisan Cell, students' cell, intellectual cells besides others, he elaborated.
