Liberty group signs MoU with Germany's Goldpfiel

Chandigarh, Oct 12 (UNI) The Libery Group, a leading Indian footwear manufacturer has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Germany-based Egana Goldpfiel to start retail operations for all their brands in India.

On behalf of Liberty Group, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mr Adesh Gupta inked the MoU with Mr Sibylle Schon, Executive Director, singed for Goldpfeil, a CII statement here today stated.

While signing the MoU, both the companies commonly acknowledge the enormous potential of a mutually beneficial cooperation. Egana Goldpfeil will provide the business format for all its brands, whereas Liberty shall offer the commercial retail business platform.

The MoU was signed during a delegation session titled 'CII Haryana and EU Mission' in Germany yesterday. An Indian delegation led by Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and comprising of representatives of leading business houses is currently on a tour of Europe to explore business ventures for Haryana.

Egana Goldpfeil is an international timepiece, jewellery, leather and lifestyle fashion accessories marketing and distribution organisation with vertically integrated manufacturing support. The company's brand portfolio comprises of prestigious, upscale fashionable and sportive renowned brands like Goldpfeil, comtesse, carrera, pierre cardin, junghans, sioux, salamander, esprit, cerruti 1881, PUMA, National Geographic etc.

Both the companies in a joint venture company plan to open upmarket retail outlets in the next year with maturity of Indian retail scenario. These retail outlets shall come up in metros like Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore.
