Lady sarpanch, 4 others booked for deceit

Anand, Oct 12 (UNI) Police have registered cases against five people including a lady sarpanch of Zankharia village of Anand taluka for false registration and bogus documentation.

According to the complaint registered by Anand TDO K C Vaghela, four men - Jethabhai Jivabhai Solanki, Ramabhai Poonambhai Parmar, Raijibhai Melabhai Solanki and Atulbhai Shanabhai Patel - with the help of lady sarpanch, Manishaben Hashmukh Patel decided to declare that their houses had collapsed due to the heavy rains that lashed Anand district last year in order to claim food relief. They managed to procure Rs 47,000 as compensation.

The five accused have been booked under 465, 468, 471 and 401 of the IPC.
