IT sleuths seize 40 kg gold biscuits

Chennai, Oct 12 (UNI) Income Tax authorities seized gold biscuits weighing 40 kg from two passengers from Hyderabad at the Kamaraj Domestic Airport here.

Official sources said acting on a tip-off, the officials intercepted Edwin and Hidayathullah, both employees of a leading jeweller in Hyderabad and effected the seizure yesterday.

However, they were let off with the gold after they produced documents showing the consignment was meant for their branch here.
