Israel Ambassador calls on AP CM

Hyderabad, Oct 12 (UNI) The Israel Ambassador to India, David Danieli called on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy at Secretariat today.

Welcoming the Ambassador the Chief Minister said about the developmental growth taken place in Andhra Pradesh, especially in Hyderabad, in the fields of pharmaceuticals, bio-technology, ITES, and invited Israeli trade delegation to invest in the areas of interest in the state.

Calling it as his 2nd visit to Chief Minister since he assumed office, Mr Danieli said, ''we in Israel have not lost sight of the tremendous progress which has been done under dynamic leadership of Dr Reddy and added that the number of Israeli entrepreneurs willing and interested to take part in the robust development taking place in Andhra Pradesh is increasing''.

They were having a modest beginning in agriculture, IT and were interested in cooperation with Andhra partners in semiconductors, water resources management, irrigation, food processing, pharmaceuticals.

''We intend to despatch our multiple-trade delegation to Andhra Pradesh in a couple of months comprising of interested parties in the above fields. With this, we would like to see that our bilateral cooperation is upgraded. The Indo-Israeli relations are highly satisfactory. Bilateral trade will hit the mark of 2.5 billion US dollars in two way trade this year'', he added.

India and Israel concluded during the last visit of Sharad Pawar to Israel a far reaching action plan in the field of agriculture.

The Indo-Israeli bilateral relations would mark 15th anniversary in January 2007 and Israel was eager to push forward the relationship further. The two governments were aiming at reaching 5 billion US dollars in bilateral trade by 2008.
