India-Finland condemn nuke test by N Korea

Helsinki, Oct 12 (UNI) India and Finland today strongly demanded that North Korea return to the six-nation non-proloiferation talks, saying it was the only way to deal with its nuclear weapons programme.

''North Korea should be persuaded to come to the negotiating table and it must be prevailed upon to end its nuclear weapons programme,'' Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his Finnish counterpart Matti Vanhanen said at a joint press conference after their talks here.

North Korea had announced that it had conducted a nuclear test on Monday. The nuclear test drew worldwid condemnation.
