HC directs A D Commission to submit report within 15 days

Patna, Oct 12 (UNI) Patna High Court today directed the Amir Das(AD) Commission to submit its inquiry report within fifteen days on the activities and links of the banned Ranveer Sena with the politicians.

While hearing separate PILs, a division bench of Chief Justice J N Bhatt and Shailesh Kumar Sinha said the court would take further action only after examining the report.

Amir Das commission was constituted on December 27, 1997 under caluse 3 of Commission of Inquiry Act 1952 RPT 1952, after massacre of dalits at Mehandia in Jehanabad district on December 1, 1997.

The commission was last given a six months extention in 2005 with a condition that it would complete its probe within the stipulated period. The commission was dissolved on February 1, 2006.

The Commission, probing into the links of 35 politicians, many from the present NDA government with the Ranveer sena, would be heard on November 6, sources said.
