Former Union Minister donates elephant

Thrissur, Oct 12 (UNI) Former Union Minister and BCCI vice-president Kamal Morarkke offered a 14-year-old tusker to Lord Sreekrishna temple, Guruvayoor, in the district today.

The offering ceremony, renaming the pachydrem as 'Gajendra,' was held in the morning after 'seeveli' in the presence of melsanthi (chief priest).

Mr Kamal, also an industrailist from Maharashtra offered elephant ornamaments worth Rs one lakh to the temple.

With the offering of the elephant, the total number of tuskers in the Guruvayoor temple rose to 63.
