Srinagar, Oct 12 (UNI) Every village in Jammu and Kashmir would be electrified under the Bharat Nirman Programme (BNP), state Power Minister Nawang Rigzin Jora has said.

Addressing a high-level meeting, he asserted that the coalition government was committed to providing electricity to all the villages of the state under the programme.

The funds for the purpose would be arranged under the Rajiv Gandhi Vidyut Karan Scheme, he added.

Mr Jora said various steps have been taken to upgrade the existing power infrastructure in the state with liberal financial assistance from the Centre.
