Call rates trade flat at 6.40 - 6.50 pc level, bonds steady
Mumbai, Oct 12 (UNI) Call rates traded flat between 6.40-6.50 per cent level as compared to the previous close amidst sufficient demand and supply of liquidity.
RBI in the call money market on Oct 11 transacted Rs 16,847.64 crores at the weighted average of 6.42 per cent.
In the first Liquidity adjustment RBI transacted Rs 16,210 crores through eight bids at the rate of 6.00 per cent.
However, RBI did not inject any money through the repo auction.
Gilts on the other hand were steady, they shrugged off selling in the US treasury. The eleven year bond (GS 8.07 per cent 2017) traded high at 102.81 and gave a yield of 7.67 per cent.
Today, RBI had fixed the reference rate for the day at Rs 45.60/ US Dollar compared to the previous rate of Rs 45.76 per US Dollar.
