Blake through to last eight in Stockholm

STOCKHOLM, Oct 12 (Reuters) Defending champion James Blake dispatched German Simon Greul 6-3 6-2 to reach the quarter-finals of the Stockholm today.

The American world number eight next faces Belgian sixth seed Olivier Rochus, whom he beat on the way to the final here last year.

Blake, seeded second, delighted the crowd with some powerful serving, fast footwork and some blistering shots on forehand and backhand.

Earlier, Spaniard Feliciano Lopez beat fourth-seeded compatriot David Ferrer 3-6 6-3 6-2 to book his place in the last eight.

He faces Finland's Jarkko Nieminen who disposed of Frenchman Marc Gicquel 6-3 6-2.
