Babulal Marandi files nomination for Koderma byelection
Ranchi, Oct 12 (UNI) Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Babulal Marandi today filed his nomination as an Independent candidate for November six byelection to Koderma Parliamentary seat.
Deputy Commissioner of Giridih Vinay Kumar Ambastha told UNI that Mr Marandi, Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Democratic) president, filed his candidature as an Independent candidate.
Mr Ambastha said Mr Jaiprakash Verma today filed his nomination again as yesterday also Mr Verma filed his nomination as an AJSU candidate.
Two nominatitions, one from the CPI(ML) and the other from the All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU), were filed yesterday. The CPI(ML) had fielded Mr Rajkumar Yadav as its candidate.
Filing of nominations would go on till October 16.
Scrutiny would take place on October 17 and the last date of withdrawal is October 19.
The Koderma Parliamentary seat was lying vacant after former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi, who was the MP from Koderma, resigned from the Lok Sabha a few months back.
